The Impact of ISTE Standards for Education Leaders at my Institution
The Implications of these ISTE Standards at My Institution
Awareness of these ISTE Standards would positively shape how my institution, Ellerton Primary School, integrates Generative AI by ensuring technology is used intentionally, ethically, and aligned with clear learning goals. Understanding the Visionary Planner standard would help guide informed decision-making about which AI tools to adopt to keep in alignment with our learning goals. The Empowering Leader standard emphasizes proper teacher training so staff can use Generative AI confidently, effectively, and responsibly. The Equity and Citizenship Advocate standard strengthens policies that protect student privacy and promote fair, inclusive use of AI tools so that none of our students are disadvantaged.
The Connected Learner standard encourages leaders to stay updated on emerging technologies and trends so our school continues to use relevant software to grow in safe and innovative ways. Additionally, the Connected Learner ensures that our technology infrastructure, including AI tools, meets the evolving teaching and learning needs. Together, these standards help create a more equitable, future-ready learning environment for both teachers and students.
